Coffee and People: Building the First Bridge
Lin Yun-Hsuan, a presales architect with a diverse background and passion, epitomizes the spirit of “choosing without limits.” Her career journey began with the warm aroma of coffee, progressed through the trials of the service industry, and ultimately reached the technological heights of the IT field, where she found her path at HigherCloud.
Graduating with a degree in Information Management, Lin Yun-Hsuan didn’t follow the conventional route into the IT industry. Instead, she chose to work at Starbucks, savoring the warmth of human interactions. “Saying ‘Have a good day’ to customers every day made me feel like I was bringing a little positivity into their lives,” she recalled. This experience honed her communication skills and deepened her understanding of the essence of service.
After graduation, she became a barista at a dessert shop. Beyond refining her coffee-making skills, she learned photography, advertising, and how to tell a brand’s story through words and videos. “At the time, these skills seemed scattered, but later they became essential nutrients for my career.”
However, the uncertainty brought by the pandemic led her to reassess her future. Realizing the limitations of the service industry and the boundless possibilities of IT, she decided to transition to the tech sector, embarking on a completely different journey.
HigherCloud: A Beacon Lighting the Future
Her first job in IT was as an information assistant, where she gained exposure to enterprise IT infrastructure. However, the remote work model left her feeling disconnected from colleagues, limiting her growth.
Next, she joined a court project team as a project support engineer, managing system maintenance and troubleshooting for courts across various locations. “Visiting different courts and addressing diverse user needs underscored the importance of communication and confirmed that I thrive in roles involving interpersonal interactions.”
Unsatisfied, Lin Yun-Hsuan sought greater technical challenges and a platform for long-term growth. At this juncture, a friend recommended HigherCloud, describing it as a newcomer-friendly environment.
Joining HigherCloud brought new challenges. Encouraged by her manager, she self-studied after work and earned the AWS Solutions Architect Associate (SAA) certification within a month. “For someone like me, who knew nothing about cloud technology at the time, it was a huge challenge, but it built my confidence.”
She chose to join the presales architecture team, a role combining technical expertise and interpersonal interaction. Here, she collaborates with sales teams, understands client needs, designs solutions, writes professional documentation, and even participates in trade show presentations. “Every challenge makes me feel like I’m becoming a better version of myself.”
One standout memory for her was a presentation at a trade show. “After the session, attendees approached me with questions. Their enthusiasm and curiosity made me appreciate the value of sharing professional knowledge.”
A Grateful Heart, Moving Towards a Brighter Future
Lin Yun-Hsuan is deeply appreciative of the team culture at HigherCloud. “Managers here are great listeners and give us opportunities to realize our ideas,” she said. Her manager even organizes book clubs and encourages the team to learn the latest technologies, ensuring everyone’s career development is well-supported.
This year, she embraced a new challenge: serving as an internal project manager under CTO Levi, assisting in scheduling and advancing internal projects while continuing her role as a presales architect. “It’s a test of time management and professional ability, but I’m optimistic about the future and hope to create more value for the team and the company.”
Lin Yun-Hsuan’s story is a journey of courage, persistence, and constant self-improvement. Her experiences teach us that every path has its meaning, and every choice can pave the way for a broader future.
“While IT professionals may initially feel lost amidst the many roles in the industry, finding a beacon like HigherCloud can gradually clear the fog. At HigherCloud, I found not just a job but a place where I can shine,” Lin Yun-Hsuan said with a smile. She is full of gratitude for those who have supported and encouraged her along the way, especially HigherCloud’s General Manager Hanson and CTO Levi, who gave her the opportunity to thrive. Her eyes reflect confidence and hope for the future, embodying the warmth and opportunities of the HigherCloud family.
