Explores Career Directions, Encounters HigherCloud

Wang Defang, known as Becky, graduated from the International Business Management department. After graduation, she actively sought her career path, accumulating diverse and rich work experiences. Her first job was as a business assistant in the gaming industry, but she found limited career development prospects in that position and resigned after six months.

Her second job was as the executive secretary and copyright specialist in the film industry. Her main business and experience accumulation came from her role as a copyright specialist. Defang told us that the work content of a copyright specialist shares many similarities with that of a product specialist, such as communication with vendors and coordinating cost pricing. These experiences inadvertently laid a solid foundation for her future career as a product specialist at HigherCloud. Later, considering the future development prospects of the film industry, she decided to choose the more challenging technology industry as her next target.

With determination to switch careers, she went through nearly a year of exploration and transition, constantly pondering her future career direction. She hoped to find an ideal job that could cultivate professional skills and offer more development opportunities in terms of salary. However, in 2020, she encountered HigherCloud, opening up a different career experience as a cloud product specialist.

Growing Together with HigherCloud, Laying the Foundation in the Cloud

When Defang first joined HigherCloud, the company had been established for less than a year, in the midst of a booming growth period. She laughed and said, "I felt new at the time, and HigherCloud was also new. Perhaps this allowed for more flexibility and communication space, sparking more ideas." In addition, she mentioned that during her conversation with General Manager Hanson, their thoughts and logical thinking were in sync, which also gave her greater expectations for future career development.

Defang recalled that when she first joined the team, the product department only had two people. While the company was growing rapidly, it also expected her to keep up with the expansion of the business. After experiencing about six months of initial challenges, she particularly mentioned that the company not only provided abundant learning resources but also was willing to give new employees opportunities to try and explore. At that time, even the general manager personally planned educational training courses, enabling her to quickly familiarize herself with cloud products in a short period, laying the professional foundation for her in the cloud.

From two people to seven people, Establishing the Core Values of the Department

After obtaining basic professional knowledge, Defang continued to obtain cloud certificates to test her understanding of the products. In addition, she also mentioned that at that time, the company was transitioning from paper-based to paperless, moving to the cloud. Facing the communication of various departmental needs in the cloud system was a challenge for her in cross-departmental coordination.

For example, as a product specialist, she closely cooperated with the business department. When the business brought back new projects or market prices, there were situations where the positions and ideas of different departments differed. Therefore, listening to the difficulties and opinions of different departments, rationally evaluating the details, and continuously communicating to ensure that the plan proceeded as scheduled, all made her strongly feel the growth of the company and colleagues through collaboration.

Additionally, Defang was very grateful for the help she received from Product Vice Manager Eda. Due to the open communication style of the supervisor, who often cared about the status of department members like a counseling teacher, she felt very secure. This also created a happy atmosphere in the product department. Now, the product department has expanded from the initial two people to seven people. "Mutual support, daring to speak out one's ideas, and teamwork," Defang said, this is the core value of the product department.

Breaking Free from Frameworks and Constraints, Boldly Trying, Challenging Oneself!

Regarding future plans, Defang mentioned that the product department needs to keep up with the development direction of the industry and continuously adjust to market demand. Therefore, personal abilities are crucial, whether it's in interpersonal relationships, communication skills, business negotiations, customer tracking, financial aspects, etc., all require diligent learning. In addition, she also aims for project management, hoping to become a bridge between the company and customers, actively communicating and integrating resources, and assisting in customer and vendor contact. Whether it's internal communication or external coordination, she hopes to continue to improve herself, enhance team capabilities and value.

"Don't be bound by any frameworks. If you have good ideas, bold ideas, just speak out!" HigherCloud's core philosophy of talent cultivation is also a value that Defang strongly agrees with. She expressed great gratitude for HigherCloud's space for everyone to freely play, allowing everyone to share their ideas and develop their strengths adaptively. Through such efforts, a secure and cohesive environment can be achieved. At the end of the interview, Defang suddenly looked shy and said, "But plans often can't keep up with changes. My life entered the next stage a few months ago, so now everything about the future has become 'unknown'!" At this stage, she is completely open-minded, hoping to move towards her goals as planned. Although happiness and pain coexist, the process of progressing from zero to one, along with HigherCloud, anticipates unlimited future development.
