【Hi Cloud!嗨雲誌】Finance Assistant Manager - Kitty Tsai

Enthusiasm and Challenges Become the Driving Force for Joining Higher

Kitty Tsai, graduated from the Ming Chuan University with a degree in Accounting. Her previous job was in e-commerce platform accounting. She shared with us that the accounting work in the e-commerce platform was relatively simple. Since the sales were tangible goods, the pricing method was fixed pricing, which is quite different from her current position in the cloud industry. Cloud product prices may change every month, requiring more careful attention to detail in operations. Later, Kitty left the e-commerce platform to prepare for the accountant exam to prepare for her future accounting career. During this period, she spent about a year preparing for the exam and, after obtaining the accountant license, embarked on the job search again.

Kitty mentioned that accounting work is not limited by industry, so she had no particular preference for industries when job hunting. One of the reasons she decided to join Higher was the impression she got during the interview. She recalled that from the reception, interview process to leaving, the company colleagues were very friendly and enthusiastic. The overall impression was very good. In addition, the challenging atmosphere of a startup company became a key factor in her decision to join Higher. Despite her preference for stable rather than dynamic job nature, Kitty firmly said, "Although startups may be more challenging in the early stages, where all processes and systems need to be redefined, established, and familiarized, I decided to try it because I knew there would be other colleagues in the department to discuss and solve problems together, so I decided to give it a try and believed in myself."

The Test of the Startup Environment Injects Nutrients into Kitty's Career

After joining Higher, one of Kitty's first major challenges was building the company's internal financial system. Kitty shared with us, "The financial work content of HigherCloud is broad and challenging. At Higher, I learned the financial building process from scratch, accumulating work experience such as system implementation, which is not often encountered in mature companies." In addition to system construction, Kitty also mentioned the pressure she faced when she first joined Higher. At that time, she was not accustomed to how to get along with a finance supervisor with an open leadership style. As she worked with her supervisor, she gradually adjusted her emotions and way of getting along with her supervisor, gradually finding the most ideal and efficient communication mode with her supervisor, reducing the communication cost at work.

After several years of experience at Higher, the various challenges of the startup environment injected nutrients into Kitty's career. She was promoted to Finance Assistant Manager last year. Regarding career planning for promotion, Kitty said with a smile that it was actually not in her expectations, and she even had many struggles internally. After becoming a manager, considering her past experience in communicating with supervisors to adjust communication modes at work, she believed that communication skills cultivation is important. "Because my ability in this area is relatively weak, it is more difficult to find ways to correct things when I want them to be corrected. The solution I later found was to observe the way team members talk and absorb situations more often, discuss with team members from time to time, listen to the feedback they give, absorb and digest, and then develop my own set of methods." Kitty told us.

Learning and Growing and Transitioning, Leading Team Members Toward the Future

Currently, Kitty, who has been promoted for half a year, often feels that she cannot balance her original work and management well due to the pressure brought by management positions. She mentioned, "I used to think it was enough to do my own job well, but now with team members, I need to consider their moods and work efficiency more. I also bear more responsibility and pressure." Regarding future career planning, Kitty hopes to enhance her management skills first, hoping to better understand the working conditions of her team members, so that they can feel comfortable staying at Higher. In addition, she also hopes to learn about product-related cost control and product know-how from the product department or technical department, accumulating more cloud product knowledge.

As for the expectations for the future of the finance department and the company, in terms of the finance department, Kitty hopes to add more accounting professional content to her work, such as implementing accounting systems to reduce the burden of monthly billing for team members, while cultivating their practical accounting experience. In terms of the company, Kitty hopes that the internal system can be more perfect. She mentioned that Higher has a high degree of customer cooperation and great discussion flexibility. In the company's internal system, it also highly respects the ideas of each employee and provides a lot of communication space. However, finding a more ideal balance in flexibility is the key to promoting smoother internal operations. She looks forward to the company's infinite possibilities in the future.

Finally, Kitty would like to thank Higher for providing a rare learning opportunity. Although accounting work is busy, with all the experiences learned and transformed by Higher, she has become more resilient in her mindset. She also has the goal of leading team members to a better future, which she never expected. She also realized the importance of time management and stress relief. Dancing classes and leisure activities after work have become Kitty's good stress relievers. Before the end of the interview, Kitty said emotionally, "Accounting work is very rigorous and not exciting, but thanks to the support and cooperation of all HigherCloud members, this work has become challenging and can be integrated into the youthful atmosphere of the company."
