【Hi Cloud!嗨雲誌】Sales Specialist - Tai Wang

Embarks on a Journey into the Cloud

Yuantai Wang, known as Tai, majored in Social Work and Technology Management in college. After graduation, he joined Nan Shan Life Insurance as a human resources specialist in sales. After three years in this role, Tai, naturally inclined toward challenges, began to consider a career change. During a conversation with friends about smart cities, he became interested in the topic and learned about the connection between smart cities and the cloud industry. With a habit of using some cloud services in his daily life, such as Google Workspace and Google Drive, experiencing the convenience of cloud living, he developed a desire to venture into the cloud industry. With a friend's recommendation, Tai met HigherCloud, thus beginning his journey in the cloud industry.

However, harboring a passion and curiosity for smart cities and the cloud industry, Tai, as a sales specialist in the cloud industry, found that the actual job content differed slightly from his expectations and understanding. Currently, the clients he deals with have little connection to smart city issues, and most of his work involves assisting clients with cloud services related to network acceleration or customized digital transformation. Despite the disparity from his initial expectations, he did not feel disheartened. Instead, he felt excited to learn and observe various aspects of affairs in this job.

As a startup industry, HigherCloud provides employees with more learning opportunities and flexibility. Tai mentioned that here, he not only learns the art of product presentation and communication negotiation skills but also learns cross-departmental communication within the company and how to discuss with various departments, acquiring comprehensive job skills.

Finding Balance Amid Role Transitions

As a sales specialist, Tai's main job responsibilities include client development, maintaining client relationships, assisting clients in handling projects, and providing effective solutions. Tai told us that being a sales specialist requires constantly switching roles. For example, in client development, he needs to actively seek potential clients, listen to their needs, and provide corresponding solutions. Through effective communication and sales skills, he gradually builds a trusting relationship with potential clients and gains new business opportunities.

On the other hand, maintaining client relationships is also a crucial part for Tai. He needs to maintain close contact with existing clients, regularly inquire about their needs and issues, provide timely support and advice, or assist in the implementation of new projects for clients. By continuously providing high-quality services with professional knowledge and skills, Tai ensures long-term cooperation with clients, helps them achieve digital transformation, and improves execution efficiency to meet client expectations.

However, when transitioning between different roles, Tai also faces some challenges, such as how to allocate time and resources between developing new clients and maintaining existing ones. Additionally, he needs to collaborate with internal teams within the company, including the product team, technical support team, and operations team, to ensure the smooth execution of client projects. These challenges have honed Tai's communication and coordination skills, enabling him to adapt more flexibly to different work situations.

Team Cohesion Supports Partners to Move Forward Courageously

As a member of the HigherCloud sales team, Tai shared with us his strongest backing - the sales department. The easy and friendly interaction among colleagues has created a team culture of nonchalance. Colleagues encourage each other like friends, sharing information openly to benefit everyone, and reminding each other of details that need attention to ensure the accuracy of work.

Tai also mentioned the influence of his supervisor, Hanson Chen, who serves as the general manager and sales manager. He described his supervisor's leadership style as versatile, sometimes focusing on details and setting high standards for colleagues, while at other times encouraging team members to dare to try. Tai further mentioned that his supervisor often advises colleagues on how to think from different perspectives and larger frameworks to find a balance between company business flexibility and responding to customer needs, which always enlightens and breaks through deadlocks, enabling further development.

Additionally, Tai believes that the sales department best embodies the HigherCloud corporate culture and has influenced his own style of dealing with things. Colleagues like Lilian Hsu, a customer manager, always face all the difficulties at work with an optimistic and positive attitude. Because they know they have strong support behind them, the entire team works together to achieve goals. This realization made Tai understand how important strong cohesion and centripetal force are for a team, allowing each partner to fully unleash their potential and strive for the success of the company and clients.

Looking to the Future, Finding Oneself at HigherCloud

Returning to the dream of smart cities mentioned at the beginning, Tai said the dream still exists in his heart. He looks forward to the future development of smart cities and the cloud industry, believing that with the continuous advancement of technology, smart cities will become a reality, bringing more convenience and benefits to people's lives. Tai also hopes to continue learning and growing in the cloud industry, participating in further training courses and exchanges with industry experts and colleagues to master more professional knowledge and skills. He hopes to play a key role, providing support and solutions to clients in different industries, and looks forward to the opportunity to contribute to the development of smart cities in the future. At the same time, he harbors a small wish to one day utilize the various skills he has learned during his time at HigherCloud to create his own cross-disciplinary career.

At the end of the interview, Tai emotionally said, "Thanks to HigherCloud for being a people-oriented company, making me feel warmth. Every colleague helps each other to complete one difficult task after another. Every small gear exerts great power, driving the entire company towards the vast oasis of the future." He is grateful to have met HigherCloud and sends a message to future partners who want to join HigherCloud, "Love what you do now and do your best to accomplish it!" Passion and perseverance are needed in the cloud industry, Tai said with a smile, "I didn't expect to understand myself better after the interview." We also believe that this interview project can help more future partners who want to join HigherCloud understand the company and help HigherCloud people firm up their goals.
